“Behold, the Lord God comes with might, and His arm rules for Him. his reward is with Him, and His recompense before Him. He will feed His flock like a shepherd. He will gather the lambs in His arms, and carry them in His bosom, and gently lead the mother sheep.” Isaiah 40: 10-11 A Message from Rev. Linda...December 2007 |

Christmas is coming! Whether or not we feel fully prepared for the season of Advent ad the re-birth of Jesus in our lives this Christmas, the Lord God is prepared! And that makes all the difference. All God's prophecies are finding their fulfillment in this coming. All of His people's ancient needs and longings are directed to this wondrous event. All of history stretches on tiptoe to see this thing that has come to pass, which God Himself has made known to us. All of this the Lord God has prepared for EACH ONE of US. And as we behold what God has done for us in Jesus Christ, we suddenly discover that we actually are prepared. Not that we have done the preparations, for we could never do anything adequately enough by ourselves, but that we are prepared to meet the Newborn King, for the Lord has done everything to make our meeting possible. "I am Jesus' little lamb," I was taught to sing as a child in Sunday School. And now I know the comfort of that picture. For the Lord Jesus Christ came to be not only my Good Shepherd and yours, but He also came to be the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. He shared our human helplessness, yet He overcame death, atoned for our sinfulness, and rose from the grave triumphantly. As we draw near to the Bethlehem event, I pray that we each will see God's ancient Word fulfilled. In the Lord's providence, our future is secure as He leads us. What a comfort this is in such an uncertain world. So let's make it our goal to savor each day of the Advent time of waiting by opening ourselves to a deeper experience of the Christ Child's coming into our lives again. He is the Savior, who is Christ the Lord! Wishing you a blessed season of joy. - Rev. Linda |
