"God has given a son to us; His name will be Wonderful Counselor, the Mighty God, the Prince of Peace.” (~Isaiah 9:6)

A Message from Rev. Linda...December 2006

Scripture

Every Christmas season, I read this reminder that came in the mail a very long time ago, when we lived in Dubuque: If our greatest need had been information, God would have sent an educator.

If our greatest need had been technology, God would have sent us a scientist.

If our greatest need had been money, God would have sent us an economist.

But since our greatest need was forgiveness, God sent us a Savior.

Just think – We’ll soon be receiving Christmas cards in the mail, and perhaps sending many of our own greetings as well. In the cards we receive and send, we’ll find printed statements like “Happy New Year,” “May peace be yours this holiday season,” “Joy to the world.” These simple phrases echo the most profound reasons that we have to celebrate again this Christmas:

Jesus became like us, so we could become like Him.

Angels still sing and the star still beckons.

He loves each one of us like there was only one of us to love.

Believe. Belong. Become. The Savior of the world is near.

A Blessed and Merry Christmas!
~Rev. Linda
